The Crown Berkey® comes with the new Black Berkey® purifying elements and functions at an incredible rate of efficiency at 6.5 Gallons per hour.
The Crown Berkey® comes equipped with two Black Berkey® purifying elements and can accept a maximum of eight elements. The lower storage tank capacity is 6 gallons. Flow rate is 6.5 gallons per hour with two elements.
Includes two Black Berkey® purification elements with the option of purchasing with additional elements in packages of two.
The Crown Berkey® system, when configured with eight Black Berkey® purification elements, can purify up to 650 gallons per day (27 gallons per hour) when the upper chamber is full. This is enough to provide for up to 325 people on a sustained basis and up to 1300 people on a short-term emergency basis.

The Black Berkey® filter formulation has been tested by State & EPA accredited laboratories and exceeds EPA & ANSI/NSF (Std. 53) protocol.
When Berkey filtered water was incubated and viewed under an electron microscope in lab tests, nothing was present but pure H2O. Other contaminants reduced to below-detectable-limits include Trihalomethanes, Radon 222, and volatile organic compounds including Benzene, 2,4-D, Heptachlor, MTBE, Styrene, Tetrachloroethylene and Toulene, among many others.
